ViciNow ("we", "our", or "the app") is an AI-powered location discovery application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

• Location Data (Precise): When you use the Discover feature, your device's GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude) are collected to find nearby places. Location is only accessed while the app is in use ("When In Use").
• Device Identifier: The app generates a random identifier for your device and keeps it in the iOS Keychain. It is not linked to your Apple ID, your name, or any other personal identity. Because it lives in the Keychain, it survives reinstalling the app.
• Usage Data: We store a daily request counter per device, so we can enforce the daily limit. We do not store your coordinates or a history of your requests.
• Feedback: If you submit feedback through the app, the text you provide is stored along with your device identifier.

2. AI Data Processing (Google Gemini)

ViciNow uses Google Gemini AI to enrich place recommendations. When you use the Discover feature:

• Your location coordinates and optional search intent are sent to our own server.
• Our server queries Google Places API and sends the results to Google Gemini AI for enrichment. Your coordinates are used for that lookup and are not written to our database.
• Your coordinates are not sent directly to Google Gemini — only place data from Google Places API is processed by the AI model.
• Google Gemini processes data according to Google's AI Terms of Service.

3. Data Storage

• Server-side: We run our own server in Germany. It stores your daily request count, your subscription tier, and any feedback you send, each associated with the anonymous device identifier rather than with you. It does not store your coordinates or your recommendations.
• On-device: Preferences (language, theme, search radius), cached recommendations, and favorite locations are stored locally on your device and deleted when you uninstall the app.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (Google) — anonymous usage analytics and crash reporting
• Google Places API — location and place data
• Google Gemini AI — AI-powered place enrichment
• RevenueCat — subscription management

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data is only shared with the third-party services listed above to provide the app's core functionality.

6. Data Deletion

• On-device data: Automatically deleted when you uninstall ViciNow.
• Server-side data: To request deletion of your server-side data, please contact us at the email address below. We will process your request within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

ViciNow is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
